Making a quality video can take some time. Depending on its value, it may or may not be worth creating a video featuring a single animal. However, a video on your Store page featuring your business as a whole is an investment that will pay dividends for years -- so consider paying the one-time cost.
Mutation Creation has a great example of a Store Video which was actually shot by Justin Kobylka. But don't feel like you need to produce a video at this level of quality for it to be beneficial. A simple "selfie" video shot with your cell phone talking about you and your passion can be more than enough to connect with other hobbyists.
Technically, the barrier has never been lower. In the mobile phone era, just about everyone has access to a high quality video camera. Tools like iMovie are not hard to use, but if you want to keep it really simple, Google Photos has some great editing tools that can easily turn a set of still photos into a video with music.
