Diesel is an incomplete dominant mutation.
History
Diesel was originally imported and proved out by Connie from Pythonica back in the early 2000s. She worked with the gene and proved a super but unfortunately she gave up ball pythons.
After Connie left the hobby, another breeder, Mike from Toronto Python Guru, took on the project. He was working with it for a while, but of course as things always go he left the hobby also and the gene kind of disappeared and was forgotten about apart from by Jason at Nyoka Ball Pythons. [1]

Body
Diesel causes a reduction in “eyes” within the alien head patterning and banding over the dorsal.
The black base color of the animal is much darker than a normal Ball Python and displays very little, if any, blushing.
