    About

The Genetic Stripe Ball Python is a recessive mutation that affects both color and pattern.
They display a prominent dorsal stripe that runs along the entire length of their body, which can either be a single complete stripe or multiple fragmented blotches.

    History

The original and only line of G-Stripe ball python was imported by Bob Clark Reptiles, who also produced the first visual G-Stripe babies. Vida Preciosa International produced a clutch later the same year from hets they had purchased from Bob.

Back in the early days of ball pythons, there were a number of striped animals that had come in from the wild. GeneticStripe was the first of these to be proven out as a legitimate morph and so it was given that name. Over time, the parlance has shifted to GStripe some times just because we tend to shorthand things in the hobby (“BEL” instead of Blue-Eyed Leucistic, “Lucy” instead of Leucistic, “het” instead of heterozygous, “Cinny” instead of Cinnamon, “HRA” instead of HetRed Axanthic, “HGW” instead of Hidden Gene Woma, “Mojo” instead of Mojave, and on and on and on). GStripe remained the only proven stripe morph for quite some time before Specter was stumbled upon. [2]

    Appearance

    Head

The Genetic Stripe Ball Python’s head resembles that of a Normal Ball Python, albeit with reduced black pigmentation and a more subdued gray and earthy coloration.

    Body

The bodies of Genetic Stripe Ball Pythons lack any side markings, and the distinct “alien heads” commonly seen in other ball python morphs are completely absent. Instead, they exhibit a prominent, thick, light-colored dorsal stripe running down the center of their back, flanked by a black or dark-brown stripe on either side.

    Belly

Typically, the belly of the Genetic Stripe Ball Python lacks any markings.

    Tail

The tail of the Genetic Stripe Ball Python displays the same coloration as the rest of its body, featuring the absence of “alien heads” and markings, along with black or dark brown stripes running alongside the main light-colored dorsal stripe.
