Phantom Leather is a truly recessive form of Leatherback, first produced in 2004 by Phantom Dragons. When bred together, these animals do not produce Silkback dragons, the entire clutch are visual Phantom Leatherbacks. It works like any other recessive gene, heritability-wise.
When you have an animal that expresses incomplete dominant Leather and Phantom Leather, this is a true Microleather animal. They are extremely smooth, between that of a Silkback and an incomplete dominant Leatherback. [1]
