About
Snake Eyes are a variation of the Eclipse morph and can occur in both the Blizzard and Tremper Eclipse as well.
When sold, the amount of Snake Eye is generally described as a percentage. For example, a leopard gecko with a Snake Eye which covers 75% of the eye would be marketed as 75% Snake Eye. [1]
History
In early 2004 the gene for totally all black eyes surfaced and its albino version, all red eyes, in the Tremper albino line. Eye color, prior to this discovery, could not be predicted. Geckos with all black eyes appeared in two impressive morph combos simultaneously in the form of the anerythiristic Mack Super Snow and the designer Tremper Eclipse.
Some of the first Eclipse morphs had eyes colored entirely black and some had the front or back half of the eye all black and the other half resembling a normal colored eye. [2]
