Hypomelanistic is a recessive gene that reduces the snake’s melanin and lightens all black markings to brown. These snakes are typically much lighter colored in general with even lighter brown markings as adults. Originally founded by Mike Lockwood, but sold to East Bay Vivarium very early on to facilitate the breeding project. [1]
