Store Policy
The following terms are a written agreement between you and BKM Exotics. Contacting to purchase an animal means you have already read this and agree to all that is laid out.
We reserve the right to refuse to sell to anyone we deem unfit for our animals.
Payment Options
We are currently only accepting purchases through goods and services PayPal if you are not local. Sorry for any inconvenience, but this is for your protection and our own.
For local and expo sales, we accept cash and PayPal. We will not be accepting any type of check.
All animal sales are final. No exchanges or refunds will be issued except for the conditions outlined below.
We offer payment plans on orders over $100 for up to 30 days. A nonrefundable deposit of 20% of the price of the animal must be paid before a hold is placed. Once this is paid, the animal will be taken down and held for up to 30 days. We can then make a plan for paying off the rest of the amount which can be done as frequently or infrequently as you'd like so long as the animal is paid off by 11:59:59PM on the 30th day.
30 day holds are for the convenience of the buyer. If by the end of the 30 days the animal is not paid off, we will place the animal back up for sale and refund you what you had paid minus the nonrefundable deposit of 20%. You will also not be allowed to place holds on any more animals and will have to pay in full for all future purchases.
Delivery
We will deliver within a 50 mile radius, or work to meet somewhere halfway within that distance.
Shipping
*At this time we do not ship outside of the continental 48 states, more will be added when we decide to make that change*
In order to give the buyer a proper shipping quote, we will need the zip code of the delivery address. Once we have that, we will contact you with the shipping price and total price. We will work with the buyer in finding the cheapest shipping option through FedEx - we do not use any other shipping method. Tuesdays and Wednesday are the days we ship out to avoid any problems extending into the weekend.
Due to the many different species we will be breeding, weather requirements may change. At this time, with the animals we are currently breeding, we will only be shipping in weather between 40 - 80 degrees F. This includes weather at our location, the FedEx hubs the animal will travel through, and the buyer's location. If weather is not optimal, we will hold the animal until it is with no added costs to the buyer.
Live arrival guarantee is only valid if:
The buyer informs the seller of the animal's arrival - if delivered to a home - and sends a picture of it's status within ONE hour of the animal being delivered.
An adult is at the home when the animal is delivered.
The buyer picks up the animal from the hub within ONE hour of it arriving at the FedEx hub.
If the buyer falters on any of the above, the live arrival guarantee is void.
If the animal is dead on arrival due to no fault of the buyer - after providing photo/video proof of condition and a veterinarian necropsy/exam report - we will do a full refund for the amount of the animal and shipping or offer a replacement animal.
We also guarantee health for an animal up to five days after its arrival; given husbandry and nutritional standards can be proved they were met and a veterinarian necropsy/exam report is given. If within five days, the animal dies, we will do a full refund for the amount of the animal and shipping or offer a replacement animal.
If anything happens while the animal is still in our care and we decide it can no longer be sold, we will refund you for the full amount of the animal plus shipping costs(if paid) or offer a replacement animal.
Replacement Animal
If at any point a replacement animal needs to be sent, shipping will be covered by BKM Exotics.
If the replacement animal is being exchanged for another, BKM Exotics will cover the shipping to the buyer while the buyer will cover shipping to BKM Exotics.
A replacement animal will not be sent until the animal being replaced has been received by BKM Exotics.
Gecko Tails
Crested Geckos
For those of you purchasing crested geckos, you should already know that their tail can fall off. It is a natural defense response to predators. They will not grow back.
We will not drop prices for a tail drop as it does nothing to the health or quality of the animal. We will also not refund a gecko for loss tail while in our care, during shipping, or while the gecko is in the care of the buyer.
Other Gecko Species
No refund will be given during the loss of a tail or part of tail for any of the gecko species we sell; whether in our care, during shipping, or in the care of the buyer.
Hatchling/Juvinile/Sub-Adult Coloration and Pattern
BKM Exotics can not guarantee color or pattern of an animal that has not yet finished growing. Many animals change from hatchling stage to adulthood.
We promise to have our pictures be as accurate as we can get them. We will state if an animal is more yellow or white than the picture depicts(most common colors to change between computer/phone screens) or anything else that cannot be determined from the pictures.
Sexing
We will not be giving out guesses to buyers regarding young animals. Animals will be marked male, female, pores seen, or no pores.
For certain gecko species, we will loupe them and share the results with the buyer, but seeing or not seeing pores does not guarantee male or female.
On the off chance something was wrong on an animal and we didn't catch it, we will refund the buyer half the price of the animal or offer a replacement animal.
Proven vs. RTB
If the animal is marked proven then it has offspring. The year of the last pairing, if female, will be posted with the animal in case the female has a possibility of retained sperm.
If the animal is marked RTB(ready to breed) then the animal has not yet been paired and has no offspring.
If the animal has been paired in our care, we will post that with the animal as well as who the sire is to the possible offspring. Any offspring from the female, once buyer receives the animal, are the buyers responsibility and property.
