Bugfarts was established in Las Cruces, New Mexico in 2014 by Matthew and Vicki Romero. Our purpose has always been to educate and spread the enjoyment of reptiles and tarantulas, to exotic animal enthusiasts. In the beginning, we started out solely making tarantula habitats which later evolved into breeding tarantulas, geckos, and snakes. Our love for our animals is evident through the quality of our collections. Bugfarts takes pride, in that fact, that our creatures are captive bred and healthy. We look forward to uniting you with your new pet at an affordable price!
Store Policy
We want to give our customers the most enjoyable shopping experience, one that will keep them coming back. That’s why we believe that our store policies should be fair, clear and transparent. Below you’ll find a list of all our policies. If you can’t find the information you’re looking for - please don’t hesitate to contact us!
- Please ask any questions prior to purchasing.
- Any messages received after 9pm (mountain time) will be addressed the following day.
- Payments are made via PayPal.
- We only ship priority overnight.
- We only ship with in the United States.
- Please know your local and state laws, BugFarts is not responsible for any violations and/or fines from the result of not following local and state laws.
- All animals come with a live arrival guarantee, with exception to carrier delays.
- Customers who experience a carrier delay resulting in the death of the animal will be refunded the cost of the animal(s), minus the shipping fee.
- Any deaths must be reported within 1 hour of delivery or pickup with photographs of the animal.
- BugFarts is not responsible for any losses if the package is not signed for or picked up at the FedEx facility by noon.
- Local pick up is available only with prior arraignment.
- If a purchase is made, the customer has 24 hours to cancel their order. After 24 hours, there will be a restocking fee of 10 percent of the order cost charged prior to refunding.
- We reserve the right to choose the shipping date based on weather. We will only ship Monday through Wednesday to help minimize the negative effects of carrier delays. Due to extreme weather conditions, we reserve the right to hold the product until weather permits.
******NOTE ABOUT SHIPPING****************
Due to recent events, we will be modifying our shipping schedule. Mondays seem to be a high ship day for FedEx and could potentially delay the package. We will be shipping ONLY on Tuesdays and Wednesdays until further notice. This is to ensure the safety and well being of the animals.
***Sexing Policy/Pore Sexing***
Any animal listed for sale on our website as definitively male or female are guaranteed to be said sex. Should you receive an animal that was sold to you as a guaranteed sex, and it turns out to be the opposite, we must be notified as soon as the error is realized. The original must then be returned to us, following our safe shipping guidelines at your expense. Our team here will inspect the animal and a comparable replacement will then be sent to you at our expense, or store credit given at our discretion.
We do not pore sex any of our geckos, and will not pore sex available geckos on request. No pore sexing is a blanket rule we have adopted for all our animals, even our holdbacks do not get pore sexed. We find pore sexing to be inaccurate, and our no pore sexing policy makes everything simpler. All geckos are considered unsexed until they show obvious signs of being male, or reach a size that we are comfortable confirming them to be females.
