About
Hi! I am Jen Thompson and I started GwenGecko in 2019. GwenGecko is myself, my kids, and my mom, so we are 3 generations of reptile lovers working with gargoyle geckos, crested geckos, and leopard geckos (and hognose snakes though we are not breeding them yet).
This is our hobby first and foremost, with the goal to produce healthy, high quality animals. Though we have a moderately large collection of geckos, (many can be found here on MorphMarket in our NFS section), we only do a few pairings per year. We believe strongly in quality over quantity and responsible and ethical breeding and husbandry practices. We do not believe in breeding all our adult animals every year just to produce as many babies to sell as we can. We disagree strongly with the "Walmart" approach to breeding reptiles. Our adults are given time off as well, so they are not expected to produce babies every year either.
We are extremely selective with our holdbacks, choosing only cream of the crop animals for our breeding projects (sometimes that means only 1 holdback from a pair for the whole year, if that). We strive to produce top quality geckos with known genetics and lineage. Each gecko's health and history is tracked and monitored, and veterinary care is always sought when needed. Our breeding stock comes from many known, well established and highly respected breeders in the industry. Lineages can be found on each gecko's page here on MorphMarket.
Each of our geckos are given individual attention to ensure health and well-being, and to help with socializing jumpy babies. Store Policy
By contacting us, you acknowledge that you are 18 or over and have reviewed and agree to our store policy/Terms of Sale.
By purchasing an animal from us, you agree to take full responsibility of that animal including correct husbandry and veterinary care as needed. We reserve the right to refuse business to anyone for any reason.
Purchases can be made on our website or here on MorphMarket with credit card. We also accept Zelle and Venmo. All sales are considered final, with no exchanges or refunds available except when outlined conditions in this TOS are met.
**Beginning 8/1/2023, we will require full payment on all local sales before scheduling a pickup.**
Local sales are only available on a case-by-case basis as our schedule allows.
Payment plans (including summer and winter holds) are available on a case-by-case basis. To place an animal on hold and/or to begin a payment plan, we require a 25% non-refundable deposit at the time of the hold. An animal is not considered “on hold” until a deposit is received. Deposits and payments made are non-refundable and can only be transferred to a different animal ONCE.
Failure to contact us and/or complete the payment plan in the agreed upon time frame forfeits the deposit and any payments made, and the animal will be relisted for sale. Talk to us if you are having trouble with payments, we are reasonable and understand things happen.
**Communication must be maintained during summer and winter holds so we know you have not abandoned the animal.** A check-in every few weeks works, and we will reach out if we have not heard from you regularly.
For the welfare and safety of the animal(s), we only ship priority or standard overnight from FedEx hub to FedEx hub once a week on Tuesdays or Wednesdays and when temperatures and weather conditions are safe for the animals (i.e. not in the extreme heat of summer or during freezing weather) on both ends. Shipping arrangements are made only after payment has been made in full. At this time, we only ship to the lower 48 contiguous US.
Shipping is $75. We try to keep shipping affordable so do not include the cost of boxes, packaging, heat/cold or phase change packs, or additional insurance provided through Redline Shipping. We strictly follow Redline Shipping's insurance coverage policy and shipping guidelines, which can be found on redlineshipping.com.
New Caledonian geckos are generally only shipped when temps are 40F-85F, and leopard geckos are only shipped when temps are 45-90F. We use insulated boxes and heat/cold/phase change packs to help ensure your animal arrives safety, but still adhere to our temperature requirements for the safety and well-being of our geckos. We do not ship in temps above 90 or below 40.
**If you choose to have your animals shipped to your home instead of a hub, there is NO live arrival guarantee.**
We guarantee your animal will arrive alive, healthy, and as described (HUBS only). We also provide a 7-day health guaruntee on all our geckos. We do not guarantee that tails won't be dropped during shipping. We must be notified of any issues within 30 minutes of package receipt, such as a DOA (dead on arrival). Photographic and/or video proof of the DOA or other issue with a time stamp MUST be provided before store credit or replacement is given. We do not offer refunds, please keep that in mind when ordering. Failure to notify us within the specified time frame will void live arrival and health guarantees.
Animals listed as male or female are guaranteed to be the specified sex. “Probable/Possible males/females” are NOT guaranteed as such as it is a best educated guess based on visual examination. Animals listed with “PPV” mean we’ve seen preanal pores but we’re not confident enough to label them as “probable males”. “NPV” animals are ones where we did not see any pores upon examination, but the animal is still too young to guarantee as “probable female.” "Unsexed” animals have not been examined and are sold as such.

Wholesale Policy
Must purchase at least 3 geckos to get wholesale pricing. Wholesale pricing can be seen in each listing. Some geckos are not available for wholesale pricing, so please inquire and make sure to check the listing. Shipping on wholesale orders is not included in pricing unless explicitly stated in the llisting. Shipping for WS orders starts at $75. Please read our Store policy for more information.
