About

Hello! My name is Frank Payne and I am a biology teacher, former AZA senior herpetology zookeeper, and breeder of exceptional lizards. I have been keeping and breeding reptiles and amphibians continuously, both personally and professionally, for over twenty five years. During my time as a zookeeper, I was part of a team that created and staffed multiple exhibitions that were part of many of the best facilities in the world, including the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, the National Aquarium in Baltimore, and the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, among many others. During that time I made multiple television appearances, including The Late Show with David Letterman.

I am currently focusing on breeding several species of beautiful and sought after lizards, such as carpet chameleons, electric blue geckos, and northern blue tongue skinks. I also make an effort to breed species which are considered difficult or impossible, such as flying lizards, in order to push our collective knowledge and experience further. I make a point to publish and share freely all of my knowledge on my own website, YouTube channel, Facebook page, and other publications such as Reptiles magazine.

When you purchase an animal from me, you are also purchasing my experience, advice, and support throughout the life of the animal. This freely shared knowledge and experience that comes with each animal I produce is what sets me above and apart from much of the industry. Besides animal health, customer service is my number one priority.

Terms and Conditions

100% Secure Ordering

I offer secure ordering via a number of methods directly on my website. You can use PayPal or any debit or credit card of your choosing. If you are close to Lancaster, Pennsylvania then paying by cash in person is possible. I do not accept other methods of payment.

Shipping

Shipping of live animals can feel risky and intimidating to someone unaccustomed to it. I have been shipping live animals for over twenty years, before there were even reptile specific shipping services. Rest assured the industry has come a long way and shipping your piece of Living Art is both safe and reliable. I have successfully shipped thousands of animals to hundreds of happy customers.

Shipping is only done using FedEx priority overnight via the Ship Your Reptiles service. I will completely take care of shipping. I only need your zip code, phone number, and email address. The ideal method of shipping is to have your package sent to and held at a nearby FedEx ship center for you to pick up. This is an excellent way for people that work during the day to have packages safely waiting for them in a temperature controlled building. Doing so eliminates much of the time your animal spends on a hot or cold delivery truck.

I charge a flat rate of $60 for shipping and handling anywhere in the continental United States. I do not charge more for shipping if you buy multiple animals. With current shipping costs this is a very competitive rate and I often lose money by offering this rate to my customers. *The shipping fee is often included in my MorphMarket price.

Your piece of Living Art will be packaged to the highest industry standards in a fully insulated and cushioned box. Depending on the weather, a heat pack, cool pack, or Phase 22 pack may be used to regulate the internal temperature of the box to keep your animal safe and comfortable. Rest assured I have made over a thousand live animal shipments and I am experienced in choosing the most appropriate packaging and temperature regulation for each case.

I ship almost every Tuesday and Wednesday. I generally do not ship on Mondays as they have the highest incidence of delays. I do not ship on Thursday as a FedEx caused delay may cause the package to be in transit over the weekend. It is possible that weather may delay shipping. The health of the living animal comes first but I will always do my best to get you your animal to you as quickly as possible. I will never ship without confirming with you first. After preparing your shipment I will contact you with a FedEx tracking link so that you can track the progress of your package as it makes it's way to you.

Live Healthy Arrival Guarantee

I guarantee that every animal I sell will be alive and healthy upon delivery to you. However, I am not responsible for shipping delays and mishandling caused by FedEx. For the live arrival guarantee to apply the package must be shipped directly to a FedEx ship center and the package held there until you can pick it up. This ensures the animal spends as little time as possible on a delivery truck in uncontrolled conditions. This is by far the safest way to ship live animals and is the only way I can guarantee live arrival. If you insist that the package is sent to a business or residence then the live/healthy arrival is not guaranteed. Death or injury during shipping is exceedingly rare. However, if that does occur I will need to be notified via email within one hour of delivery. Video evidence proving the DOA will need to be sent. Don't let this policy scare you! I have shipped over a thousand animals with a nearly 100% success rate. I will never ship without agreeing on a date with the customer and without making sure weather conditions are within acceptable ranges.

*Many species of lizards will occasionally drop their tail under stressful conditions (such as packaging and shipping). This is not something that can be controlled or helped in some cases. I am not responsible for a dropped tail during the packing or shipping process. With the exception of crested geckos, all of the species that I breed and sell will regrow their tail. This does not affect their health in any way. There will be no refunds or exchanges in the event of a dropped tail during packing or shipping.

Deposits and Cancellation

In general I do not accept deposits or payment plans. I do occasionally consider them on a case by case basis. Any deposits made are 100% nonrefundable. There are no exceptions to this. I also do not allow order cancellations. Buying a living animal is a major responsibility and should not be done lightly. If you decide you no longer want the animal after purchasing it I am not responsible for refunding the money.

In cases of emergency I may allow for order cancellations but there will be a 25% nonrefundable deposit deducted from the total purchase price. This is done on a case by case basis and I am not liable to do so under any circumstances.

By placing an order with me you are agreeing to these terms.

MorphMarket's Default Store Policy specifies any terms which have not been overridden by this Seller's stated policy.
