About

I'm a spider enthusiast and small independent breeder of true spiders and tarantulas. I also have feeder insects and a few species of isopods. I try to at least keep captive bred local wolf spiders on hand, and will be breeding more and more tarantulas as time goes on. The species that are on the docket for breeding soon are in my "Collection". At some point I will also offer local same-day delivery of feeders, but that is a year or so away.

Enclosures and other dry goods:

4.5" square (24oz) container with flip-up tab for easy feeding - $3
3" square (7oz) container with flip-up tab for easy feeding - $1.50
(both stackable, side ventilation, near clear)

3" amac cubes (crystal clear, no ventilation) - $6

*Enclosures may be limited to how many I can fit in the box, usually 3-4 large, probably several small.

Hours:
about 5pm until 10pm weekdays, all day on weekends
I have a day job, so I may not be able to respond until the evening when I get to my desk.

Wolf Spiders:
My wolf spiders are all captive-bred from mixed captive-bred and wild-caught stock, unless specifically stated otherwise. I release spiders from every egg sac back into the wild, and I collect new stock from the wild for breeding if needed, so I never inbreed my spiders. I do not collect wolf spiders directly for sale, and I release easily 10 times the number of spiders I collect back into the wild. I also only collect spiders on private property, and with permission.

Wild Caught Spiders:
Generally, I only catch spiders for breeding purposes, if needed. From time to time I may not need one of these when they mature out, and will offer them for sale. Occasionally I also catch spiders while I am out. If it's something that intrigues me, or something I haven't seen before, or something rare, I may list it, especially if I think someone might want to breed it. Personally, I much prefer breeding spiders and offering/raising slings to digging up perfectly happy adults with unknown age and health. If it is a common, short lived (one season) spider like an orb weaver, I may offer wild caught only, if a breeding project would not be prudent. I will also not require Overnight or 2 day on such a spider, as something that only lives for a few months is not necessarily considered "pet quality", and may not be insurable. Most of the true spiders I sell can live for several years, especially if purchased as slings.

Trades I am looking for:
- Poecilotheria subfusca slings/female (preferably Highland - must come from Colorado)
- I do want metallica as well and a couple of others, most of the ones I want are ESA.
- Linothele/Macrothele of some kind
- A big huntsman of some kind
- Hogna incognita

Default payment method is Paypal.
Shipping (Please read all of this section prior to inquiring):

*** Winter Shipping ***
A larger box may be required for safer heat pack use, so the shipping cost from FedEx may increase substantially. Overnight is preferable(with insurance), as any delays on 2-Day can turn it into 5 days with the weekend. Feeders only ship overnight/2-day right now, unless you really want frozen...

$50 minimum order for shipping, or a $15 packing and handling fee if it is under that amount(please see FAQ at bottom). All orders ship FedEx through Redline Shipping, in insulated boxes with hot/cold/phase packs if needed.

The shipping rates I've seen so far vary between $65 and $90 for Priority Overnight(about $45-$70 for Standard Overnight to a hub). I will have to get a quote for each order. I will round up to the nearest $5 to help cover the packaging which is about $5. I will be shipping one day a week, on Wednesdays. This is the only day I can ship or receive because of my job. Orders in by the end of the day on Sunday will ship Wednesday. This is also the deadline for changing/adding to orders.

If you do not want an On Time/Live Arrival Guarantee, I will ship 2Day Express, which looks like it is roughly half the cost of Standard Overnight ($30+). I may temporarily suspend using 2Day and only use Overnight if it is extremely hot or cold. I will still attempt to personally cover the animal (with store credit) on DOA, as long as it doesn't go over the weekend, and you contact me promptly after reported delivery, but I cannot purchase insurance on this method, so the cost of shipping is not covered. Particularly rare or expensive animals, or ones I did not produce in house are also not covered at all. Please use Overnight if there is any doubt.

There is an On Time/Live Arrival Guarantee(LAG) as long as you use Priority Overnight(to a home/business) or Standard Overnight(to a hub). Please tell me if the package was even 1 minute late. Whether the shipping costs are covered by my insurance, in the event of DOA(Dead on Arrival), depends on whether it was on time or not. In the event it was on time, or if I do not have another of the same animal, I cannot re-ship the animal, and can only offer credit towards a future order. I must know within 2 hours of delivery if something is wrong, I must have clear pictures of the animal right side up, and on it's back, and it must be saved in the freezer in case insurance needs it, for 30 days.

We will have to coordinate a ship date together that works for you, and I reserve the right to hold spiders for ANY length of time because of weather or being in pre-molt, and will offer a full refund of course if this is not agreeable. For example, I may not be able to ship most of the time during winter, as my local weather may never qualify for LAG insurance on the shipment. In the summer there should realistically only be a couple of weeks I can't ship, and packages will go out the next week. If and when I realize there will be an extended off period, it will be posted here at the very top.

Feeders will by default ship FedEx Ground($15+), unless we decide on something else. The $50 minimum still applies to feeders. I do not want or intend to be a feeder supply company, the only reason I have feeders available right now is to help people start colonies so they can supply their own feeders, and meet minimum order amounts with something they actually need. My prices for feeders and feeder shipping are probably not competitive, and that's ok. My feeders do not come from colonies grown for sale, they are my personal colonies I'm feeding my spiders with, and subject to low availability at all times. Any LAG is personal, I will tell you if I think it's safe or not, and if I think it's safe, there's a LAG, and I'll send you replacements. I cannot insure feeders or the shipping, so I will add overages to orders if I think there may be losses, to cover those losses up front. If I'm convinced they will all freeze, I either won't ship, or you'll agree roachsickles are just as nutritious, although maybe not as exciting to feed. Obviously, I will not ship roaches to Florida, if you ask I will block you. You are responsible for knowing if the species is legal or not in your state, there may be more. I don't ship to AK or HI at all.

Wolf spiders are long-lived pet quality invertebrates and I will not ship them in any other way than I would tarantulas. Any package containing both pets and feeders will be shipped Priority Overnight or Standard Overnight, if you want a LAG, or 2Day Express without one.

The Rest of the Fine Print:

Freebies are included with any orders meeting the minimum amount for shipping, even if you pick it up. YOU MUST ASK FOR FREEBIES. I don't want to push pets on people. If something can be chosen as a freebie, it will say so on the ad.

Overages: Some true spiders can be quite delicate. If I realize a species is prone to death in shipping, I may, with your permission, include extra of this species. This will be on top of freebies. I have not yet had a shipping loss of Hogna genus.

On Hold:
If you inquire about an ad, I will spin off that ad and put it 'on hold'. We can then develop the ad into an order. The way this site works, there has to be a single ad for each sale in order to give each other reviews. If I only have one of the animal, it is not actually on hold without a non-refundable 50% deposit, meaning anyone else can still buy it. If there are multiples, I will sell all of the other ones first, then cancel the hold if you do not respond in time. If you want to make sure animals are actually on hold, it requires a deposit.

I reserve the right to refuse to sell an animal to anyone, for any reason, and I will not disclose the reason. If I see a serious reason I think someone shouldn't own an animal, I'm not going to have any further discussion about it, I'm simply going to click 'decline sale'.

Spiders are measured in DLS (diagonal leg span). The site uses cm, for reference, 2.59 cm=1 inch. No spiders sold will ever be under 1/4".

The "birth date" listed is the date they emerged from the eggsac, or in case of incubation, the date they were ready to leave the incubator.

Mature Males will be sold in order of most recent maturity first. The date of maturity will be listed at the top of the ad. Mature Males have not been paired yet, unless specifically stated otherwise. There is no LAG on a Mature Male with a maturity age of more than 3 months (one month for any true spider besides H. carolinensis). LAG on Mature Males can only be covered with credit towards animals produced in house.

If you buy spiders and want feeders, please let me know. I will try to accommodate you even if I do not have feeders listed for sale. Feeders can always be selected as a freebie, and I will include a few meals worth with any spider order upon request. My colonies are in almost strictly growth mode right now, and I have hundreds of spiders to feed, but I do try to make some available, especially if you purchased a spider from me.

Guarantees of health after an in-person pickup are at my sole discretion, but will under no circumstances extend beyond 7 days from purchase, or through a molt or attempted molt. I certainly understand that things happen sometimes that are no fault of ours, that's why I try to grow my slings on a bit before I sell them, especially very tiny ones like the smaller wolf spiders. My discretion will rely entirely on your answers to my questions, and pictures or video you can provide me, and this is in no way a statement of a promise or guarantee.

All prices are FIRM for single items. If you want to buy in multiples or bulk (5 or more), go ahead and start haggling ;) I would also love to have some wholesale outlets, especially as I move into more and more tarantulas in the future.

Pricing of spiders:
Spider pricing is based on many factors, including species, age, sex, lifespan, and size. In the simplest terms, the larger a spider is, and the longer it lives, the more expensive it will be. The longer I grow a spider, the more resources and time it has taken me to do so, including roaches, containers and substrate, and the time it takes to feed hundreds of spiders one by one, sometimes multiple times a week... These factors are pretty much industry wide, so this doesn't apply to just my spiders. Wild-caught spiders are often less, because none of those other things have been done. All that's been done is catching it. This is also why captive-bred spiders have more value, as well as knowing the age, often better health, and less impact to wild populations.

FAQ:
Q: What if I just want a single $15 spider shipped?
A: Either: You pay $50 and $35 is credited towards a future order, and you get a freebie if you want one, OR, you pay an additional $15 packaging and handling fee. This is just to ensure that I don't lose money on the order, which I certainly would.

Q: Why can't spiders be shipped Priority, don't they just live in a hole anyhow?
A: All spiders are venomous according to USPS and can't be shipped through them. Many very large or very small spiders are sensitive to ground travel or time. Also, not all of the UPS and FedEx trucks are climate controlled, as the FedEx hubs and planes are, nor can they be insured, except on FedEx overnight. For now, a 3 day option doesn't exist, as long as I can only ship on Wednesdays, but may in the future. There are some spiders that fall in the middle, such as larger wolf spiders, that may be perfectly safe as long as the weather is safe the whole trip, all week. If the entire order consists of spiders I believe will be perfectly safe, we can try Fedex Ground at your request. I still do not recommend it.
