About
I currently breed Western Hognose Snakes and have plans to start a reptile education program in my local area. I have been a keeper for over 7 years and have been breeding since 2021. Our hognoses are bred and born inside a geodesic dome on my small homestead, just outside of the Adirondack Park of New York. My adult snakes and holdbacks are kept in bioactive and/or naturalistic enclosures. I am passionate about reptiles and environmental preservation. I am always available to assist those who purchase a snake from me, I have worked in customer service for over a decade. Snakes produced by me will come with a detailed brochure listing morph and hets, parentage, feedings, information about the individual snake, as well as some general hognose information. Store Policy
My top priority is that my animals are healthy and my customers are happy. The terms here are designed to protect the buyer, seller and animal(s).
Terms:
- Must be 18+ to purchase a snake
- Must have an adequate enclosure with appropriate heat ready by the time the animal ships. Critter keepers/ bug enclosures are NOT acceptable, even if temporary. I can assist in the creation of a SAFE, affordable temporary enclosure, just ask!
- If you are located in a state where a permit is required to keep hognoses (including but not limited to: Virginia, Illinois, Colorado) I will request your permit number and will contact the appropriate state department to ensure legality of the sale and verify your permit status.
Payment:
- I accept payment via PayPal (friends & family only,) Chime transfer, Square, cash in hand (for pickup/delivery), and check sent via mail (funds need to clear before shipment/delivery of snake.)
- All sales final unless there is a confirmed problem with the health or sex of the snake (see below.)
- Unless other arrangements have been agreed upon by both the seller and buyer, payment is due at the time of purchase.
- Payment plans are not guaranteed and will be offered and executed on a case-by-case basis. I will only consider payment plans for animals whose price is $400+.
- Buyer is responsible for shipping cost. I usually use ship your reptiles, but I can use reptiles2you by request.
Shipping:
- Shipping speed/times vary and will be agreed upon by both the buyer and seller before shipment. I live in the coldest area of the continental US, in order to ship safely, seller and buyer must coordinate the shipment schedule based on weather.
- Animals can be shipped to the U.S.
- Animals can be shipped overnight via Reptiles2You or Ship Your Reptiles in strict compliance with their shipping guidelines when weather conditions permit at both sending and receiving locations.
- All animals are shipped Monday-Tuesday for a Tuesday-Wednesday arrival only. My preference is to ship on Tuesday.
- Lawless Exotics is not responsible for unforeseen shipping delays by FedEx, including but not limited to: plane mechanical issues, FedEx employee and/or paperwork errors, air traffic delays, unpredicted weather events and/or acts of God.
- Lawless Exotics is not responsible for delivery delays due to buyer error, including but not limited to: incorrect address, not picking up animal(s) held at hub on delivery date, not answering the door, etc
- Shipping Insurance: If you would like shipping insurance, please choose Ship Your Reptiles. In order to get the insurance you just have a local fed ex hub that accepts live animals.
Guarantees
- All animals on offer are produced by Lawless Exotics unless stated otherwise
- All animals are sold in good health and free of parasites
- If you have a health concern about your animal, please contact Lawless Exotics within 24 hours of receipt
- Lawless Exotics reserves the right to nullify health guarantees due to insufficient evidence of proper husbandry and/or failure to quarantine.
- Lawless Exotics highly recommends observing a 60-day period of quarantine. Which includes keeping the snake in different room and using strictly separate tools and equipment than those you use for your other reptiles until the 60 day period is over.
- All photos of the animal represent the actual animal that will be delivered.
- We do our best to ensure that animals are the sex advertised, but if you have concern that the sex is not what was advertised, please let me know within 72 hours of receipt and I will work to make the situation right.
- Lawless Exotics guarantees that the animal will be 80% or higher of the advertised weight upon delivery
Returns:
- Returns, refunds & exchanges are handled on a case-by-case basis. Returns and exchanges are NOT guaranteed.
- I strongly urge all buyers to take a video while unboxing your animal to eliminate uncertainty between parties. In the unlikely event of a DOA, I require this video as proof.
- If you are unsatisfied with your purchase for any reason, please contact me within 12 hours of receiving the animal.
- In the unlikely event of a DOA, buyer must notify Lawless Exotics within 2 hours of the package being delivered. Photo proof/unboxing video is required.
