My name is Alfred Guerrero, I am a small hobbyist breeder. I've owned snakes since I was a child starting with garter snakes and anoles purchased from local swapmeets in California. As I grew older, I became interested in the various reptiles offered at local pet shops, including the beautiful appearance of the western hognose. Since rattlesnakes are dangerous (some will say deadly), a hognose is a safe and gorgeous substitute. with their color variations and unique personalities, it's hard not to fall in love with them.
Store Policy
SHIPPING…Live arrival guarantee,hognose are shipped in insulated reptile specific shipping boxes with heat or cold pack if needed,hognose are only shipped with overnight priority service through fed ex.Illinois buyers must show me permit to keep hognose,hognose will not be shipped to Iowa and Colorado.If hognose arrives deceased(dead) buyer must contact Patriot hognose within 20 min of pick up at fed ex hub,send pictures of deceased animal,buyer should not leave hognose in car when picked up from fed ex to do errands etc.
FedEx hub pickups only, no home deliveries. This is in order to protect snakes from extreme hot or cold temperatures. Animals will not be shipped out if temperatures at my city,main distribution hub are over 90degree.
HOGNOSE WILL NOT BE PUT IN HOLD WITHOUT DEPOSIT, Too many people flake out .
Payment…Non refundable deposit of 25% is required for hold of snake if local pick up or shipped,I get inquires for same animal from multiple buyers so don’t consider animal on hold just because you messaged me about it,first deposit gets Hognose(I’ve had buyers get upset in past on count of messaging me for days and someone comes in and leaves deposit and animal is no longer available). Hognose must be paid off within 60 days,with pmts made at least every two weeks,if i do not hear from buyer every two weeks deposit will be forfeited unless buyer contacts me and makes arrangements.i am easy to work with.

I try my best to accurately sex the hognose,I will probe once hognose is about 20 gms .Under 20gms i go by tail shape which is not always accurate nor is scale counting.tail pics will be sent upon request.
DISCLAIMER…..Hognose bites can led to severe allergic reaction and may need medical attention,Patriot Hogs is not responsible for any medical bills that may occur,buyer takes all responsibility if event does occur.it is buyer’s responsibility to do research on hognose snake bites.Hognose do have potential to bite especially during feeding and opening of tub,buyer should make it common practice to not just open tub and drop food item inside to minimize hognose from charging out of tub ready to bite food item and mistaken body part as food item.If bitten pull up on rostral scale(nose scale) and hognose will release.
