SnakeSmithS is a very small-scale breeder specializing in Corn Snakes (Pantherophis guttatus). All of our snakes are pets, are handled frequently, receive the highest quality care, and provided large, naturalistic, stimulating enclosures. All of the Corn Snakes we breed and sell are captive bred and born. We have more than 30 years experience keeping reptiles and are committed to working with you to ensure a good experience for you and your Corn Snake(s). Store Policy
PAYMENT & SHIPPING: Shipping within the continental United States is via FedEx Priority Overnight through ShipYourReptiles (SYR) or Redline Shipping. Shipping rates are determined based your zip code and are clearly communicated before you are invoiced (typically $40-$80). All payments are via Square, PayPal, Zelle, or Venmo (your choice :). We only ship when temperatures along the entire route are in the range of ~40~90 degrees Fahrenheit (we don't use heat or cold packs). Due to changes in FedEx & SYR policy we are currently only shipping on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. To avoid holiday delays that night endanger your snake, we don't ship between Dec. 15 - Jan. 15, but you can go ahead a purchase a snake to be shipped ASAP in the new year :). Shipping date will be clearly communicated via email before any sale is finalized. We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or Georgia. Shipping is free on orders of $500.00 or more. We do not offer home delivery on orders of more than $250.00 unless the buyer is willing to forgo our live arrival guarantee. You will receive a FedEx tracking number so that you can follow the progress of your shipment. Please be aware that FedEx adds at least $5 to the cost of shipping if you choose home delivery, rather than hub pickup.
HEALTH GUARANTEE: SnakeSmithS only offers completely healthy snakes for sale and hatchlings are only offered for sale once they have fed at least 3 times (consecutively). Only 100% visibly healthy snakes are shipped. Thankfully, we have never had any issues and live arrival is guaranteed. However, in the event that an animal does not survive shipping, you must notify us within 2 hours of receipt and provide video documentation that clearly demonstrates that the deceased animal is the individual we shipped. Please note that our live arrival guarantee is void if we are not provided with complete and correct shipping information. Someone must be present to sign for FedEx home delivery or our live arrival guarantee is void. Additionally, because it can frequently add many hours to the 'shipping journey', we strongly recommend (but do not require) that you have your snake(s) shipped via "Hold For Pick-Up" at your nearest FedEx hub so that the snake is not required to endure a potentially long and bumpy, and possibly cold or hot ride on a delivery truck to your home. We will be happy to provide you with the address of your nearest FedEx hub that will hold reptiles for pick-up via SYR (they are located essentially everywhere :). You must pick up your snake from the FedEx hub within 4 hours of its arrival or else our live arrival guarantee is void. In the unlikely event of a DOA shipment in which we determine that the buyer is in no way at fault, the buyer's full payment (including shipping but minus PayPal fees, if applicable) will be credited towards a replacement snake from our inventory. If no replacement acceptable to the buyer is available, the buyer may choose to wait until a replacement of their liking is available, or may choose to receive a full refund. SnakeSmithS retains the right to refuse sale or cancel sales if the buyer demonstrates they are unwilling or unable to follow 'accepted husbandry practices' that help to ensure the health and well being of reptiles in their care. While we are not responsible if your snake becomes ill or experiences feeding issues while in your care, we gladly continue to provide advice to our customers after sales have been completed. We are not responsible for veterinary bills incurred for the care of your snake under any circumstances.
GENETICS & GENDER: The genetics of all the snakes we sell are stated completely, and as accurately as our knowledge allows ...which is nearly 100% in every case as we typically only sell Corn Snakes we produce ourselves :). We are happy to provide photos of the parents of the hatchlings we have for sale upon request. The gender of all the hatchlings we sell is determined to the best of our knowledge, but is not guaranteed. All of our snakes are sexed after hatching and again before shipping but we are human and a mistake could conceivably occur. We are happy to exchange a mistakenly identified snake for another, but return shipping of the original snake is the buyer's responsibility. No exchanges (or refunds) will be processed until the original snake has been returned to us in good health.
HOLDS & TRADES: Corn Snakes selling for $200.00 or more (including shipping) can be held with a 25% non-refundable downpayment. The remaining balance is due within 2 weeks after the 25% downpayment is received (unless otherwise agreed to). Snakes will not be shipped until the entire balance is paid. Trades are rarely accepted but it doesn't hurt to ask :)
LEGAL STUFF: It is the responsibility of the buyer to know the laws and regulations regarding the possession of reptiles where you live. We cannot possibly be aware of all laws, regulations, permitting requirements, etc... in all of the various US states, counties and cities. We ship reptiles at the buyer's request and will not assume responsibility should this request violate local law. Unfortunately, because of a ridiculous law that prohibits the sale, purchase or possession of native reptiles in the state of Georgia, we are unable to ship Corn Snakes to that state. You must be 18 years old to purchase from us or have parental/guardian permission. All sales are final. Refunds are only offered according to the policies outlined above.
