I am a small breeder who loves his animals, and they are always treated with respect. They may be breeder animals, but I try my best to give them all of the best pet amenities.
My goal is to make sure that every buyer gets the best, and every snake that I sell is leaving my care at it's best. I bought nearly all of my breeding snakes as hatchlings, so I treat all buyers how I would want to be treated.
Store Policy
Store policy, I first thought I would enjoy writing all of this down, but as I started selling hatchlings I started to dread it, and have been putting it off, but here I go.
I take payment threw Paypal as friends and family. I don't ship a snake till I have received payment in full. This is to protect myself from scammers. The risk for sellers is much higher than the risk for buyers. As a buyer you may buy a couple of snakes over the years, but I am selling close to 100 snakes a year. This is pretty standard practice.
Professional service guarantee: As long as you own the snake I sold you, you have my expertise to call uppon for advice.
Live Arrival Grantee is only if you are picking up from a FedEx ship center. I prefer to ship to FedEx Ship Centers only for the safety of the animals.
I grantee the health of the animals for the first 2 weeks only if the snake put into quarantine away from other animals in it's own room, and has it's own equipment, and the enclosure is set up the way I direct, with the equipment I recommend.
I guarantee the condition of the animal to be without blemish, excluding a random missing scale or two, unless stated in the description of the animal. When you receive your snake, before you put it in your enclosure, take about 5 minutes to give it a quick and gentle look over. Let me know if you see anything wrong, and get pictures. After 2 successful feedings, and 2 full days for digestion, take the snake out and do a thorough look over. Let me know if the snake looks good or if something is wrong. If you don't let me know that something looks alright, or wrong with the snake, or at least let me know, that is has, or has not eaten by 14 days after shipping, guarantee of health and condition is void.
All animals are eating on frozen thawed mice before I list them, unless the description says otherwise. Let the snake settle into the enclosure for at least 4 days before trying the first feeding attempt. DON'T START HANDLING THE SNAKE. Wait at least 4 more days and feed the snake again. Wait 2 more nights after eating before you start handling the snake; Before this, only go into the enclosure to change the water, or remove an uneaten feeder as needed. Let me know right away if the snake does not eat, so we can start trouble shooting what is going wrong. Don't wait a month to let me know something is wrong.
Holds and Deposits: I don't like asking for deposits. If you are replying back to my messages within a day, I will assume you are still intending to buy the snake, and I may not ask for a deposit. If I ask for a deposit, it will be for 10% of the animals cost not including shipping with a minimum of $10. Deposits paid will be applied to the total cost of the snake and shipping. A deposit will hold the snake for a month, after that time I will ask for another deposit, unless I feel we are close to working out the transition. Deposits will not be refunded unless for some reason I need to back out of selling you the snake. Normally this will only be if the snake escaped one me, which has not happened yet, or something happened to the snake, or I discovered something wrong with the snake I did not spot earlier, or because of end of the year shipping blackouts.
Refunds and returns. I can not take returns. I don't have the quarantine space for returns. You don't want to do a return. Returning live animals sucks. You will get full refund with a dead on arrival and the animal was picked up from a FedEx ship center the day of arrival. I will need a video to verify the dead on arrival. the packaging will also need to be in the video. If I choose to ship on a day that turned out to be a bad shipping day, and the package got delayed, please record the box opening.
If I miss sex a snake I will offer a 30% refund, excluding shipping. If I send the wrong snake that I priced less than the snake that was supposed to be sent I will refund the difference in cost, excluding shipping. If I sent you a snake that I priced for more by mistake you won't get a refund. I can not take it back. You can sell the snake, then buy a snake you want, but if it was me I would just keep it, and be happy getting the better snake.
I guarantee the health of the animal for 2 weeks only if these instructions are followed, and this equipment is used as I direct, and is handled as I direct. You will need to prove you have this equipment before receiving the snake and it must be setup or I will not give a refund based on the health of the animal.
Enclosure setup instructions and equipment list. The enclosure must be kept in a room away from other reptiles. The enclosure must stay out of direct sunlight. The enclosure must not be in front of any room heaters, air conditioners, or vents. The room must stay within 74 and 80 degrees. Any rocks used in the enclosure must be larger than a small dinner plate, and must have been boiled for 5 minutes. Any sticks from out outside must be oak and baked at 190 degrees for 2 hours. Absolutely no pine or cedar in the enclosure, or construction of the enclosure. No bioactive enclosures, it is just too many variables, I am not dealing with it. Thermostats must be used for each heating element. If you are using over head heating, like a heat lamp, the thermostat probe must be fixed to the surface of the thing that will get the hottest, and the thing that gets the hottest must not be able to be moved by the snake. If using under the enclosure heating the thermostat probe goes under under the enclosure on top of the heat mat. Thermostat must be set to get the surface of the hottest spot in the enclosure to 88 degrees, and not go over 90 degrees. The enclosure must be large enough that the snake can get to a part of the enclosure that is at most 82 degrees. The snake must have it's own feeding tongs to prevent biocontamination. You will need a infrared thermometer to check temperatures. No tape, or sharp or pointy objects in the enclosure. Provide hides and clean water and follow these directions, and you would have to do something pretty extraordinary to kill any cornsnake within 2 weeks.
Escapes: I can't go to your home and help you find your snake. If the snake escapes before the first 2 weeks are up, or before it starts eating on it's own, all guarantees are void. Make sure your enclosure is escape proof. Rat snakes less than 100 grams are freaking tiny. Don't underestimate them. this being said if your snake escapes, stay calm. I can direct you to a guide I wrote to help you find your lost snake, and help with further incites that may apply.
I will not give a partial refund to cover a vet visit unless I tell you the snake needs to be brought to a vet, and I admit what ever is wrong is from when I had the snake. Never force feed, or tease feed, or assist feed a snake a sold you, unless I say to. All of my snakes i list are well established, and should not require such radical interventions to get to eat.
I don't spend the money I get from selling a snake till the snake is on its way in shipping.
Please no tire kicking. I heavily invest my time into every inquiry about my snakes. If you loose interest in buying one of my snakes let me know, otherwise you may be getting updates for the next month.
If you are having any problems with the snake you bought from me let me know. I am an expert on cornsnakes, and the other animals i keep. If it is within a month of shipping let me help you fix the problem, or let me offer to "make it right" before getting other people involved. If it is years later, let me know. I want to make sure you get my help if you need it, if I can help from my end.
One more thing, I love getting updates on the hatchlings I sell, so if you want to randomly send a picture or video i will appreciate them.
