Animal Purchase and Hold Policy
1. Purpose
This policy establishes clear guidelines regarding the payment, reservation, and shipment processes for customers wishing to purchase animals. It ensures financial security for both the seller and the buyer and promotes the well-being of the animals during the transition.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all customers purchasing animals. All customers are required to adhere to the payment, reservation, and shipment guidelines outlined below.
3. Key Points
a) Full Payment Before Shipment:
Customers are required to pay 100% of the purchase price before any animal is shipped.
No animal will be shipped unless full payment has been received and confirmed.
b) Buyer's Responsibility:
Buyers bear the responsibility to recognize and understand the traits of the animals they intend to purchase.
Buyers are encouraged to request additional pictures, lineage information, or any other details as needed to make an informed purchase decision.
Buyers are responsible for knowing how to properly care for the animal they purchase.
c) Holding an Animal:
For purchases of €100 and above, to reserve and hold an animal, a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the purchase price is required.
For purchases below €100, a 100% upfront payment is required.
The deposit ensures the animal is not sold to another party during the holding period for those purchases that qualify.
Animals will only be held for a maximum of 30 days. If the buyer does not complete the purchase within this timeframe, we reserve the right to cancel the order. In such cases, the 25% deposit will not be refunded.
For orders above €100, the remaining 75% of the purchase price must be paid before the shipment of the animal. If the animal is reserved for pickup and not shipped, the buyer must pay the remaining 75% upon pick-up, in cash, if they have not completed the payment before the pick-up date.
d) Reservations for Local Expo Reptile Shows:
Animals can be reserved for local expo reptile shows in Antwerp and Houten.
The buyer must make the reservation and agree on specific pickup details with the seller in advance.
The 25% holding deposit applies for reservations made for these shows, and full payment should be completed upon or before the pick-up at the show.
e) Shipping:
All shipments of purchased animals, outside of expo reptile show reservations, will exclusively be managed by DDI (Dutch Dragon Import).
The buyer will not be allowed to choose an alternative shipping provider.
4. Enforcement
This policy is enforced by the Sales and Finance Departments. It is their responsibility to confirm payment before authorizing the shipment or reservation of any animal.
5. Consequences
a) Failure to complete the full payment before the agreed shipment date or expo show pick-up will result in the cancellation of the sale. The animal may then be made available for purchase by other interested parties.
b) The 25% holding deposit is non-refundable. In the event that a buyer chooses to cancel their purchase after making the deposit, or if they fail to complete the payment within the specified holding period or show date, the deposit will not be returned.
MorphMarket's Default Store Policy
