Policies:
Buyers must be 18 years of age or older in order to make a purchase from us.
Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs which vary based on state. Please see the shipping information page for shipping costs based on the shipping destination.
Buyer must notify Mason Dixon Sand Boas within one hour of delivery if there is a DOA in order to be compensated. Proof of DOA with pictures of the snake taken within one hour of delivery must be presented to Mason Dixon Sand Boas. Compensation can be in the form of a monetary refund of the purchase amount or in the form of a replacement snake.

No animal will be shipped until payment has cleared. Please allow an additional ten business to allow personal checks to clear.
Payment Plans:
Payment plans are available. Please contact us to discuss payment plan options. We require a minimum purchase of $300 (shipping not included) and a 25% non-refundable deposit. Payment plans will have to be completed within 30 days. If the payment plan is not completed at the end of the 30-day period, the snake will be placed back up for sale. Any money paid towards the purchase of the snake, with the exception of the 25% non-refundable deposit, will be returned to the buyer. This arrangement helps ensure that the buy intends to purchase the animal.
Sex / Health / Genetics Guarantee:
All snakes are guaranteed correctly sexed, healthy and feeding. Baby sandboas are sexed via the palpation method. While this method is fairly accurate, mistakes do happen. If you are certain that you received a snake of the wrong sex from us, please contact us within two weeks of delivery to make arrangements to correct your problem.
Snakes are not offered for sale until they have had at least five feedings with a strong feeding response. This means that the snake actively struck and coiled the prey item. Snakes may be fed on either live or f/t prey, so please make sure you are able to provide live prey items if the snake you are planning on purchasing is currently feeding on live prey. While we do our best to switch all snakes over to f/t before offering them for sale, some snakes take a longer amount of time and some snakes will never switch over.
Any snake labeled as het or 100% het is guaranteed to carry the gene as labeled. If the snake does not prove out to carry the gene after a successful breeding, please contact us and we will either purchase the snake back from you at the original purchase price, or offer a substitution. Any snake labeled as 50% het or 66% het does not come with any genetic guarantee for the gene labeled as 50% het or 66%. This is due to the nature of genetics.
We recommend quarantining all new arrivals. We also recommend that you do no cohabitate your snakes in the same enclosure. Please refer to the care sheet for husbandry recommendations. Give your new snake a week to settle in before offering food. Make sure clean water is provided at all times.
Shipping Information:
We ship via FedEx Priority Overnight through Reptiles2You. Shipping rates vary based on location and the size of the shipping box. All snakes will be placed inside of deli containers or snake bags and then placed into insulated shipping boxes. Heat packs or cold packs will be used as necessary. Snakes will not be shipped without consent from the buyer. The FedEx tracking number will be sent to the buyer as soon as the label is printed. Shipping is done on Monday – Wednesday only.
In order to provide a safe shipping experience for the snake, shipping will only be performed when the overnight low at our location (Stewartstown, PA), at the main FedEx shipping hubs (Memphis, TN and Indianapolis, IN) and your location remains above 40° F. Shipping will also only be performed when the daytime high at our location (Stewartstown, PA), at the main FedEx shipping hubs (Memphis, TN and Indianapolis, IN) and your location does not exceed 95° F.
We are able to provide care for your purchased snake until an accommodating shipping window opens up. The snake will be fed and taken care of as if it was still ours. We will continue to monitor the weather at all locations to look for a shipping window that fits into the buyer’s schedule.
Please plan on having someone to accept the package on the day of delivery. Most packages are delivered by 10:30 am; however some will arrive later due to your location. Mason Dixon Sand Boas cannot predict when the package will arrive. It is advisable to monitor the package by the FedEx tracking number.
