Big announcement! MorphMarket is creating a new community-powered resource for herp morphs/traits/localities/etc.

  • a continually updated, wide-coverage, high quality online source of morph information for all herps
  • articles will consist of trait facts, descriptions, issues, and representative photos
  • focus will be on single genes at first rather than combos (which are endless), as well as other traits such as localities
  • primary version will be published on the market website, but the editable/source version (aka "talk pages") will be in our community forums
  • all are welcome to provide input, but moderators will control updates, and experts will adjudicate controversial content
  • recognized traits will be proven, and require either notable visual differences, significant community acceptance or marketplace traction. This is ultimately subjective but means that projects will require a level of maturity before they are accepted.

We invite you to take this short survey to help us pick the name. There's also a spot for experts to submit themselves to help.

This project is something we've been planning for years and are really excited about! It will truly be a community effort.

Have you ever wondered how MorphMarket moderates our site and mediates disputes? And how does our effort stack up against other services? This is something we care deeply about and put many hours into every week.

To increase transparency, we've just published an article on our Market Moderation Policies which gives a brief but thorough overview. It describes our handling and resolution of a wide variety of issues involving users, ads, ratings, transactions, and more. It explains what we do and what we do not do. We believe this information is helpful for understanding your rights and obligations on our site.

This article is part of our growing set of resources in our Learning Center.

USARK Alert Updates

MorphMarket is proud to be a Gold Member of the US Association of Reptile Keepers because they advocate for our freedom to responsibly keep Reptiles & Amphibians. Not only does this organization need your financial support, but also your name. Its membership count reflects its significance to outsiders in the same way the count of signatures on a petition reflects its level of support. Let policymakers count you among those who stand with USARK.

To raise awareness about USARK and amplify its voice, MorphMarket will now be syndicating its official alerts to a new category in our community forums and to our home page.

On the home page, these alerts will show up under the Community section with an official USARK badge as shown in the picture, where they will remain for seven days, while the other topics remain only for a few days.

You can learn more about USARK and become a member at their website. There you can also subscribe for email updates or via their RSS feed.

Improve Your Brand Awareness

Think about how frequently companies get their brand name in front of you. You see brands in commercials, on billboards, at sponsoring events, and even in the names of buildings (e.g., "Target Field"). Advertising is expensive, but with the MorphMarket Reptile Community (MRC) we have created a new opportunity for you to expand your brand name for free.
