Android users can now download the MorphMarket Android App from the Google Play Store. UPDATE: Apple users can also download the iPhone App as well.

The new app version provides a FANTASTIC feature to the platform called push notifications. Push notifications are the small pop-up messages sent by apps (as pictured). This is a game changer for communication on MorphMarket!

Push notifications will provide buyers and sellers with immediate alerts when they receive messages. This will help you send and receive responses quicker, leading to more conversions. They also link right into our Messenger which provides options not available in email, such as the ability to decline inquiries or block users.

These notifications open up a world of possibilities for other valuable alerts, like when animals you're looking for have been posted on the market or when someone you follow has new listings. These features are coming soon!

If you have already been using the older version of our app (which launched in March 2021), you'll want to uninstall that and get the new one from the app store. You can tell them apart because the older version has a black icon whereas the newer version has a gray icon. You can also see the version under the hamburger menu which is currently v1.0.8.

More details about push notifications:

• Notifications aren't sent instantly, but every few minutes.
• If you check your messages or reply from email such that the system knows you've "seen" the message, you won't be bothered with a push notification.
• You can enable & disable email and push notification alerts for various events under your Settings > Notification Settings options.
• If your app is open, touching the notification should go straight to your messenger. We are fixing a bug right now, where if the app is fully closed, it will only open the app and not go to this page.

Brian Kusko walks you through adding your Not For Sale animals into MorphMarket, using import 2.0 (part 1). Brian is able to do this even while being sick, so you can too. ;)

Note that you don't need to use import to accomplish this. If you want to keep it simple, just use the "Add Animal" option to add them one by one. But if you have more than 10-20 animals it's recommended to learn this approach.

Rare Genetics Inc. (RGI) is a new company that has developed genetic tests for reptiles that are reliable and affordable. These tests from RGI will be available for purchase through MorphMarket in a matter of weeks.

With a small piece of shed from your reptile, RGI's tests can tell you if the reptile is male or female, or if it contains certain morphs. This means you can prove out your possible het animals without taking years to grow them up and breed them. It can also confirm incomplete dominant traits such as Asphalt/Gravel/Yellow Belly.

When is this useful?

• Test your offspring so you can sell them as 100% Het instead of Pos Het
• Test the animals you buy to verify they were accurately advertised
• Test your breeders to find out if they have genes you didn't even know about
• Test your pet to know if it's a boy or girl

As of today tests already developed include:

• Ball Pythons: Morph Identification for Clown, Piebald, and Lavender Albino
• Ball Pythons: Sex Determination
• Colubrids: Sex Determination
• Venomous: Sex Determination

3-5 additional Ball Python morph tests are planned to be added in the next few weeks, with more to come every month.

The platform our service runs on is called Heroku. They are currently experiencing an incident with DNS right now. Thankfully we were able to hack our way around this and get things running again while many other websites are still down.

NFS Collections is a new animal management feature on MorphMarket which enables you to showcase your Not For Sale (NFS) animals. This is a great way to show off the breeding stock you are working with.

Previously, a few examples from your collection were shown on the Store page. Now, prospective buyers can browse your ENTIRE collection by clicking on the "View Collection" link in the Collection section of the Store page.

The Collection page provides some basic filtering and sorting options with more to come. You can also restrict which animals show up here by adjusting their visibility to Private or Unlisted. Unlisted animals can be seen but only by a direct link. Private animals can only be accessed by the seller.

NFS Animal visibility also depends on your Membership level. Basic members can showcase adults. Standard members can also showcase subadults. Higher memberships includes babies. These limits help to prevent the use of this feature to sell these animals.

However, this limitation did not sit well with us because we wanted all members to be able to share their entire collection with friends, including holdbacks. To allow this, we created a special link which you can obtain by using the Share button on this page. When you post this link into social media, anyone who clicks it will see all of your public animals.
