Organization Profile Pages

Profile pages on MorphMarket are now available to other types of organizations beyond breeders. This includes manufacturers, content creators, expo organizers, industry advocates, and more.

We add this functionality to support our events system. Currently, one can create an organization profile when self-registering for an expo. Orgs who have Basic membership get Enhanced Event Listings which include a link to their profile, among other things.

Here a few examples:

  • https://www.morphmarket.com/stores/narbc/
  • https://www.morphmarket.com/stores/morphmarket/

Useful features so far include contact info, description, video, badges, community posts and events. These pages can also gain followers, which will have more value later this year.

In the future, we'll make it part of our normal onboarding process.

500 Morphpedia Articles

Since the initial release of Morphpedia back in October, our team has been hard at work to bring as much information as possible together for the whole community to explore and learn.

We recently hit the 500 Published Articles mark, which is an amazing milestone. At this point 21 categories are represented, and we have covered about 50% of the traits listed in our marketplace.

This wouldn’t have been possible with the outstanding amount of help that has been contributed so far by members of our community, we are extremely grateful for their assistance in our mission.

Along the way we have gotten input from breeders from all around the world, to hear their first-hand stories about the history of traits. We have also connected with expert geneticists from multiple fields to help incorporate a whole wealth of information to introduce features such as "Complexes" and "Tags" to help herpers understand how traits interact with one another.

MorphMarket Events gives the herp community a calendar of industry expos and other events with rich vendor listings.

This a tool to be used both before AND during events.

It will help you answer questions like:

  • What expos are happening near me?
  • Who is vending at this expo?
  • Where are they located in this huge room?
  • Who can sell me a species that I'm looking for?
  • What do the parents of this animal look like?
  • And more!

Vendors and Event Organizers, please read our FAQs which explain how you can register.

We talked about MorphMarket NFS quite a lot pre-launch, but we didn't say much about this one. We hope you enjoyed the surprise.

Try it out now!

We've added a new resource to educate buyers on buying safely, whether on MorphMarket or elsewhere. You'll find this article on Safe Purchasing in the Learning Center with many others.

This is an expanded version of the older "Researching Sellers" article. It's been a background project for at least a year now!

Yes, we know it's quite long. We will reorganize content later to make it more digestible.

We will eventually release a similar document with best practices for Sellers protecting themselves.

This content includes feedback from many folks over the years. There are too many to recognize, but we are grateful!

One thing MorphMarket does for both big and small breeders is to provide them with visibility. For example, because our site is trusted by Google and other Search Engines, our MorphMarket Store Pages get great SEO making them easy for the whole world to find.

However, for some folks we do this TOO well! On occasion, we are told by hobby breeders that they'd prefer their store page (along with the owner's real name) NOT show up in Google search. There are various legitimate reasons for this.

We just added a new feature for you to control this. On your Seller Profile at the very bottom, there is a new section called "Visibility". You can uncheck this box and save, and it will require users to login before they can view your store page.

Please note that it may still take a little time for search engines to remove this page from their indices. If you have any questions, please contact our support team and we'd love to help!

In the process of redesigning all the core pages on our website, we just launched the new store page! We believe this is the professional look that takes our sellers web presence to the next level.

New features include:

  • Cleaner, more modern look
  • Sidebar to jump to different sections
  • Collapsable text areas
  • Slider for animals for sale at the bottom with larger images

Sellers, for the best possible logo: - Choose a 500x500 square image - Use a solid not transparent background, such as white or black

Changes to "On Hold" Ads

Sellers: To prepare for new features coming out as part of MorphMarket's NFS Initiative, we've made some back-end changes that improve our system's flexibility. We are going to FULLY explain these changes soon as we release new features in the coming weeks.

For the most part, you should not see any differences at this time, but there is one exception sellers should know about. ON HOLD is no longer a separate checkbox but part of the ad's availability setting as an alternative to FOR SALE, SOLD, etc. To account for this change, we had to convert ads which were previously marked as both ON HOLD and SOLD.

For older ads, we know these animals really are sold, and the on hold setting was just never updated (this is part of the reason why on hold is now an alternative to for sale or sold). However, for more recent ads, we realized sellers might have marked the animals as SOLD when they were actually still in their possession. This can happen in some cases while waiting for payment plans or good weather. We did not want sellers to lose track of these ads.

To account for this, ads which were marked as both SOLD and ON HOLD and were last modified in the last TWO months have been moved to ON HOLD and INACTIVE. While they will show up in your primary inventory tab alongside the FOR SALE ads, they are NOT visible to users because they have been rendered INACTIVE.

If you have actually sold it, you can simply go through and mark it as sold again (note that the new inventory system will soon make bulk updates like this very easy).

We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience. We viewed this as the least confusing way to move forward.

We will explain the full set of changes along with the exciting new features soon. If you have any questions please contact our Customer Success team, and we're happy to help!
